Our Replica Rolex Novelty Predictions for 2024
The new year is always an exciting time, and the watchmaking industry is no exception. Brands like Audemars Piguet have already launched their novelties early in the year, while others are waiting for trade show season at the end of March, coinciding with replica Watches and Wonders. This year, the spotlight is on Rolex, and as we move through February, the anticipation is building for what the Genevan Giants have in store for 2024.
First and foremost, one of the most anticipated novelties from Rolex in 2024 is an entirely new Daytona. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Daytona, a watch that has seen relatively minor updates since its current generation was introduced in 2000. With the cal. 4130 movement in service since 2000, a new movement, the cal. 4230, seems likely. However, the aesthetic updates remain uncertain. Will we see new dial variants on steel models, precious metals, or ceramic bezels on two-tone variants? Only time will reveal the details.
Another iconic model celebrating its anniversary is the Submariner, launched 70 years ago in 1953. While a new movement is unlikely, as the Submariner received an overhaul in 2020, expectations are high for a new green dial variant, especially after the discontinuation of the Hulk in 2020. This green dial may find its home in a precious metal variant, possibly a yellow gold with a green dial.
One watch that has stirred the copy Rolex community’s curiosity is the prototype no-date Yacht-Master made in titanium, famously worn by Ben Ainslie. While rumors have circulated about a titanium Yacht-Master, we predict Rolex will introduce a titanium Sea-Dweller. The teaser video posted on Rolex’s Instagram page featuring a metallurgist and a blurry Sea-Dweller strongly hints at something new for the Sea-Dweller, possibly in titanium.
In 2022, Rolex discontinued the Milgauss ref. 116400, which had been expected due to its aging design and movement. However, the Z-Blue variant, the ref. 116400GV, still remains. With the Milgauss’ anniversary not approaching until 2026, Rolex will likely discontinue the Z-Blue ref. 116400GV in 2024 and reintroduce the Replica Rolex Milgauss in 2026 after a three-year hiatus. Rolex’s approach to such matters can be unpredictable, so the fate of the Z-Blue variant remains uncertain.
Lastly, a wildcard prediction is the potential reintroduction of the GMT-Master II with the popular red and black ‘Coke’ bezel. Originally launched in 1983 as the Fat Lady, the ‘Coke’ bezel was a part of the GMT-Master’s redesign and its introduction as the GMT-Master II. After 50 years, Rolex may reintroduce this fan-favorite variant, possibly at the expense of another GMT-Master II variant like the Batman’s blue and black, which has been in service since 2013. Rolex’s decisions often keep enthusiasts guessing.
