2021 Perfect Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chronograph
Patek Philippe is now offering the Aquanaut watch with a chronograph movement. This sporty complication fits perfectly with Patek Philippe’s increasingly youthful and dynamic collection. But how does it perform in real life?
The collection was first launched in 1997. Taking inspiration from the Nautilus collection, but with an updated modern design and a sturdy composite strap, the collection appealed to a young, sporty clientele. The Patek Philippe Aquanaut was first introduced in 1997 and is one of Patek Philippe’s newest collections, alongside the Twenty-4, which was released in 1999. The CH 28-520 C movement that powers the fake Rolex watch is almost 10 years younger – the first chronograph movement in this Nautilus-inspired watch with a circular octagonal bezel.
Our test replica watches, the Aquanaut Chronograph, features a striking orange “tropical” strap made of a modern composite rubber that is resistant to wear and tear seawater, and UV rays, and is combined with a new double folding clasp. With four independent clasps and two side pushers, its patented design offers extreme reliability and ease of operation. Its strap is connected at both ends by two spring-loaded rods, so it must be trimmed to the wearer’s individual wrist size – a powerful move that allows no room for error. And for different occasions, Patek Philippe offers the Aquanaut Chronograph with an additional black strap.
For added stability on the wrist, the end of the strap on the case is not only secured by a traditional spring-loaded lever, but also by two pins leading from the end of the strap to the case body. For this reason, replica Patek Philippe recommends that the strap be replaced by an authorized service person, which would limit the ease of use of the strap.
But why should the strap be replaced? We found that the orange strap highlights the colored accents on the dial marking the chronograph functions; the slender chronograph hand extending from the center of the dial; the minute hand above the subdial at 6 o’clock; the markers for the 4 Hz chronograph track around the dial and the elapsed minute track around the subdial.
This takes the same shape as the circular octagonal shape of the bezel. On the other hand, the design of the strap face blends well with the relief on the Aquanaut main dial, which references the Earth’s coordinate system. The applied Arabic numerals, the 12 markers, and the two thick baton-shaped hands for the hours and minutes are made of white gold with a luminescent coating, so that the time is easy to read, day or night, thanks to the strong contrast between black and white and the green luminescence at night.
